This lecture will offer an overview of the medical issues related to earthquakes. In addition, it will demonstrate how the understanding and basic interpretation of certain pieces of seismological data can have an profound impact on how physicians and emergency managers make critical decisions. The goal is to encourage collaboration between the medical field and those with expertise in the area of natural hazards.
